Xbox One news: Xbox Annual Ultimate Game Sale announced, Play Anywhere for Windows 10 dated
Xbox One and Xbox 360 players are looking at a week-long sale for the entire week. From July 5 to 11, over 250 deals are coming to both platforms for Xbox’s Ultimate Game Sale.
What’s even more special about this is that this will be the first sale to see discounts on Windows 10 included in the mix, Major Nelson announced via his official blog. The sale is open to everyone, with discounts of somewhere between 40 to 60 percent. However, Xbox Live Gold subscribers will get an additional 10 percent as a bonus for their membership.
As of writing, the company has not yet announced the exact prices for the games. However, the entire list can already be seen in the link above. In the sale, there are more than 30 discounted titles for the PC. Some notable titles here include “Quantum Break,” “Gears of War Ultimate Edition,” “Halo Spartan,” “#IDARB,” “Hitman GO” and “Rise of the Tomb Raider.”
For the Xbox One and Xbox 360 titles, players can look forward to a mix of add-ons and games. Some franchises like “Assassin’s Creed,” “Call of Duty,” “DC Universe Online,” “Far Cry,” FIFA” and “Grand Theft Auto” have some titles on sale.
Additionally, PC players can now look forward to the Play Anywhere program for Windows 10. It’s dated to launch on Sept 13, in time for some anticipated titles.
Microsoft unveiled the new program at E3 2016 during the Microsoft press conference. According to Polygon, this program will allow players to save progress in a game using a single file and only at a cost of one game. This essentially allows players to play the game and DLCs on the Xbox One or PC while accessing all add-ons, unlocks and achievements at no extra cost.
To get the service on the PC, players will need the Windows 10 Anniversary Edition update come Aug. 2 and the summer update on the Xbox One. When purchasing games, players will need to have the digital download version of the game for it to access the Play Anywhere feature.
Currently, there are 12 titles supported by the Play Anywhere feature. These include “Ark: Survival Evolved,” “Cuphead,” “Crackdown 3,” “Forza Horizon 3,” “Gears of War 4,” Halo Wars 2,” “Killer Instinct Season 3,” “reCore,” “Scalebound,” “Sea of Thieves,” “State of Decay 2” and “We Happy Few.”
