Xbox One S bundle, Kinect adapter sighted following Microsoft’s no-Gamescom appearance announcement
Microsoft may be readying a few things for the Xbox One S. First up is two possible bundles for the console.
Tipster ekim (via GameSpot) has featured snapshots of the sighted bundles. The “Gears of War 4” bundle shows off a bloody red Xbox One S and accompanying controller. Another tweet had showcased the back of the console, and one that confirms that it is potentially an Xbox One S, not a Xbox One.
“Here is something uplifting after the news about no Gamescom Conference from MS. The backside of the Gears Xbox One-S,” said ekim in the tweet.
The bundle not only contains the custom Xbox One S and controller set, but also a full digital copy of the game’s Ultimate Edition. The bundle will also have the season pass, some digital items and the bonus of unlocking the game four days before the public launch.
The “Halo 5 Guardians” bundle features a 1TB version of the Xbox One S. The design is not as impressive, but it is a glacier white console and controller design.
Speaking of the Xbox One S, it seems that the Kinect won’t just die yet with the new console. However, that doesn’t mean that access to the Kinect features is available at the get-go.
According to IGN, players will need to use an adapter to use the Kinect features on the upcoming console. The bad news may be the steep price of US$40 (approx. AU$52.50) for the adapter. The good news is that players who will buy the Xbox One S Kinect adapter can also use it for the Windows PC, as it is compatible.
Fans can already preorder the device via Amazon. But, for existing Xbox One users there is an extra bonus of a free adapter for players who will be upgrading to the Xbox One S using the device.
