Xbox One, Xbox 360 Games with Gold for May 2016 revealed with new free and discounted games for the week
With just a few days before May, Microsoft has finally announced its lineup for the May Games with Gold. While the list is a little more toned down compared to April’s blockbuster lineup, these are worth checking out all the same.
On the Xbox One, the entire month of May will see “Defense Grid 2” as its first free game. Then from May 16 to June 15, “Costume Quest 2” from Double Fine Productions and Majesco will be free. Xbox 360 players will enjoy “Grid 2” for free from May 1 to 15, while the latter half of May will offer “Peggle” for free, as per Xbox Wire.
Xbox One players who no longer play via the Xbox 360 console can still enjoy the latter two titles via backward compatibility. That’s an additional car blazing motorsport title and the much-loved puzzler from PopCap.
Speaking of free games, Xbox One players can also expect another freebie besides the May 2016 Games with Gold. Those who want to sample “King’s Quest” can do so for free, at least the first chapter of the reboot. Titled A Knight to Remember, the first chapter is offered free of charge as part of the promotion of the upcoming episode three, IGN reported.
Since this is just a sample, fans should still expect to pay to get the succeeding chapters. Though the next chapters are not discounted, on way to get them at a better bargain would be via the Season Pass, which slashes off US$10 (approx. AU$13) when buying all of the chapters individually.

Microsoft’s newer console features the likes of the “Assassin’s Creed” franchise, including the latest “Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.” Other titles worth noting are “Alien Isolation,” “Dead or Alive,” “Hitman,” “Madden NFL 16,” “NBA 2K16,” “Neverwinter Zen” and “Shovel Knight.”
All of the discounts for the Deals with Gold will last until May 2. As per usual, the discounts are only valid for Xbox Live members.
