Over the period of time, "The Young and the Restless" (Y&R) has seen several characters coming and going. It's been almost six months, but fans are not yet over Michael Muhney's-who portrayed beloved Adam Newman-exit. While the status of Adam Newman's re-casting remains unknown, fans are reportedly urging to bring Michael Muhney back. Meanwhile, two old characters are returning to the show bringing exciting drama. Tricia Cast and Michael Fairman Coming Back to The Young and the Restless (Y&R)

The legendary soap opera actress Jeanne Cooper passed away a year ago. "The Young and the Restless" definitely miss her well-loved character Katherine Chancellor. According to TV Guide report, Aug. 26 and 27 episodes will commemorate the one-year anniversary of Katherine Chancellor's death. To do so, CBS' long-running daytime soap opera will feature a "remembrance ceremony in Chancellor Park." The show will also see the return of actors Tricia Cast as Nina and Michael Fairman as Murphy.

The reps of the show shed some light on the August storyline revolving around Katherine's remembrance ceremony. The Web site notes that "Y&R" reps have revealed that the ceremony is "Katherine's idea." She reportedly "adamantly, requested in a letter to Jill (Jess Walton)." Jill will receive this letter on Aug. 13. The episode is going to be an exciting one as it will also bring "resolution to the soap's maddening music box mystery."

As for Michael Fairman's character Murphy (Katherine's husband), he is currently living away from Genoa city in a Lake Michigan cabin. As per the report, Murphy will also receive a letter from Katherine. In the letter, Katherine asks him to head to the Genoa City for the memorial service. And Nina (Katherine's friend) returns to Genoa City from Los Angeles, where she is an author.

Return of Nina will give rise to lots of questions. The Web site urges readers to think what happens when Nina discovers Cricket (Lauralee Bell) is battling marital problems already. Furthermore, the Web site reveals, Katherine's memorial service "coincides with yet another tragic setback for Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott)."

Adam Newman Return Update

Michael Muhney last appeared on Jan. 30 episode of "The Young and the Restless." Ever since he left the show his character has remained a faceless entity. Who will replace Michael Muhney in Adam Newman role continues to be a mystery. Fans are eager to see the return of the Genoa city resident, especially when his wife is indulging in sex with his enemy Billy Abbott.

Based on Twitter reactions, Enstars is reporting that "The Young and the Restless" fans are "still angry about the incident" that led to Michael Muhney's firing from the show. In Dec. 2014 TMZ reported that the actor was dismissed from the show after Hunter King allegedly accused him of groping and sexually harassing her. Enstars notes that "Y&R" creators are still looking for Michael Muhney's replacement, but fans insist on bringing him back as they feel "no one else" fits better in the role.
