In the year 2014, "The Young and the Restless" (Y&R) has seen some major cast shakeups and switches and the process continues. According to the latest updates, an old Genoa City resident is set to return to the show. In addition, "The Young and the Restless" (Y&R) has acquired a popular, former "General Hospital" (GH) cast member. Read on to find out the details.

According to Soap Opera Digest, "General Hospital" (GH) alum Kelly Sullivan is joining the cast of rival daytime soap opera. She is reportedly recruited for the role of new and recurring character named Sage. The report describes Kelly Sullivan's "The Young and the Restless" (Y&R) character an "intelligent, competent, discreet and reserved" woman. Sage is reportedly a passionate person who could go to any length for her loved ones.

Speaking to the publication dedicated to providing information about soap operas, Kelly Sullivan revealed that she is "incredibly honored and flattered" to join the cast of fan-favourite "The Young and the Restless."

The news follows hard on the heels of reports about "The Young and the Restless" star Billy Miller joining "General Hospital" as much-admired Jason Morgan. This is one of many major switches between the two daily soap operas. "GH" showrunners Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati took to Twitter to confirm the news and return of Jason Morgan.

On Sept. 2, 2014, Frank and Ron wrote on Twitter:

. @carlivatiron Billy Miiller is joining the cast of @GeneralHospital in the role of Jason Morgan. Welcome to Port Charles Billy #GH

Meanwhile, fans know Kelly Sullivan is known for "GH" character Kate Howard aka Connie. Kate was shot dead by Ava Jerome in 2013.

Soap Opera Digest notes that fans can watch out for Kelly Sullivan's debut on "The Young and the Restless" (Y&R) in episode airing on Oct. 28, 2014. She will start filming for the show on Sept. 24.

In an additional news, an original cast member is set to return to Genoa City. According TV Guide's exclusive report, former "The Young and the Restless" star Tom Hallick will make a comeback on the show on episode airing on Sept. 26. The actor is remembered for his "Y&R" character brad Eliot, that he reportedly portrayed from the year 1973 to 1978. The report notes that fans won't see him as his original character but a "kindly truck driver who helps" Phyllis getting back to the Genoa City.

It is reported that the scene is a recreation of the very first scene of "The Young and the Restless" that featured Brad Eliot. After exiting "Y&R," the actor joined the cast of another daytime soap opera "Days of Our Lives."
