Christmas may just be a few days away, but characters in the CBS soap opera "The Young and the Restless” are not in the mood to celebrate. Friday’s episode will show Billy Abbott (Burgess Jenkins) going back to his drinking habit in light of his recent career issues.

The episode will also focus on Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), Victoria (Amelia Heinle), Noah (Robert Adamson), Adam (Justin Hartley) and Abby (Melissa Ordway).

TV Guide reports that on Friday, Jack will compel Adam to make a choice about which side he will be on: the Newmans or the Abbotts. Meanwhile, Billy will be seen getting out of hand.

The soap posted a teaser video on its official YouTube channel. It shows three scenes from the Dec. 18 episode, featuring Adam, Noah, Chelsea, Victoria, Abby and Billy.

In the first scene, Adam briefs Noah about the new job. “Your job is to bring down Luca, get the Santori family out of our business,” Adam says. Noah replies, “Guess I’m officially Newman’s secret weapon.”

The next part of the preview shows Chelsea talking to Victoria. “The kind of love you and Billy have is a rare thing. Isn’t he worth fighting for?” Chelsea asks.

Abby and Billy will be the focus of the last scene. “You already smell like booze,” Abby observes. Billy says he is celebrating because Jack fired him.

According to Soap She Knows, Chelsea will voice her concern about Billy’s drinking and gambling problems again. Victoria will say Billy should deal with his issues on his own, as she has to protect herself and her kids. Chelsea will remind her that what Victoria and Billy have is out of the ordinary. Meanwhile, Summer and Abby will see Billy downing on alcohol. Abby will approach him and comment about the booze. A few moments later, Victoria will arrive and will go over to Billy. A fight will ensue between the couple, and Stitch will try to cut in. In his drunken state, Billy will ask Stitch if he is still sleeping with Victoria, and will try to hit him but will miss and fall on the floor.
