"The Young and the Restless" (Y&R) star Michael Muhney was reportedly fired from the CBS show because he sexually harassed his 20-year-old co-star Hunter King. On the other hand, Muhney, who has played the role of Adam Newman/Adam Wilson in the popular soap opera since 2009, claims that he was dismissed from the show because of his "outspoken nature."

According to TMZ, King alleges that Muhney made unsolicited and unwanted advances toward here and that he "fondled her breasts" on two separate occasions.

Muhney tweeted about his departure from the long-running soap opera on his official Twitter account.

Muhney's last appearance on "The Young and the Restless" will air on January 30, 2014.

In an interview with Huffington Post Canada TV, Muhney spoke about being let go from "The Young and the Restless."

"I was informed Monday night at work. I was told 'We're going to be letting you go.' Everyone knows I always have something to say. I'm a chatterbox, laugh all you want, but I was rendered speechless for about five minutes. I didn't utter a word. There was truly a moment when I thought I was having a very vivid, surreal dream and I couldn't wake up so I could tell people I was having an awful dream about 'Y&R' letting me go," said Muhney in the Huffington Post Canada TV report.

According to Muhney, he was told about his departure from the soap opera by "The Young and the Restless" executive producer Jill Farren Phelps.

Aside from sexual harassment, Muhney is also being accused of bullying and harassing other members of "The Young and the Restless" cast and crew. Nevertheless, Muhney's other co-star Sharon Case seems to feel bad about Muhney leaving the show. She reportedly made a video tribute for Muhney. Check it out at the start of the article.

It is said that "The Young and the Restless" plans to hire a new actor to play Adam Newman. However, Muhney's fans are not pleased with that particular news.

Fans of Muhney are shocked and outraged about his sudden departure from "The Young and the Restless", as well as his reported bad behaviour towards his soap opera colleagues.

TMZ reports that some fans of "The Young and the Restless" have vowed to stop watching the soap because Muhney was fired from it. Some fans even took their Muhney devotion to another level by pooling together their money to raise $785 to pay for a banner that will fly across the CBS Studios in Los Angeles, California. The message on the banner will say "NO ADAM NEWBIE, JUST MICHAEL MUHNEY."

Representatives for CBS, Muhney and King and CBS have not responded to requests for comment from members of the U.S. media.

Muhney is a member of Mensa and was nominated for an Emmy. He has a wife and three kids. Before appearing in "The Young and the Restless," he was seen in other TV shows such as "CSI: Miami," "Charmed," "The Huntress," "JAG," "Veronica Mars," "Without a Trace," "Numb3rs" and "ER."
