CBS's "The Young and the Restless" is set to feature some very interesting and explosive episodes in the week of Aug. 25-29. The week will see Genoa City residents coming together to honour Katherine Chancellor on her first death anniversary. The occasion will see the return of two characters on the show. The week on "The Young and the Restless" (Y&R) begins with drama at the Newman house. Soap Central has presented a detailed spoilers report.

Sharon, Nick and Mariah: According to the report, the week begins where it left. "Y&R" viewers will see how Sharon's world comes crashing down after the big revelation. Mariah's past pushes her to get close to Nick, which reportedly leads to "unpleasant consequences." Later, Mariah gets herself into a dangerous situation. After uncovering the secret about Mariah, Nick and Sharon decide to save her life. The couple rushes to rescue the girl.

Devon, Hilary and Neil: Neil tries to deal with his new life. The report notes that Neil's family "reels as Neil's thwarted need to replace the love of his life becomes a Greek tragedy of lies and betrayal." Meanwhile, Hilary talks to Devon about what needs to be done. She tells him to forget "what's between them." Jack and Kelly learn about Neil's accident and blindness. This leaves them "devastated." Neil realises how his family and friends are trying hard to not upset him. He takes a big step towards living a normal life. He leaves his family worried when he tells them that he will be a part of Katherine's upcoming memorial service.

Jill grows suspicious of Michael and thinks he is secretly seeing someone. Elsewhere, Nikki continues to control her urge to drink. Later, she succumbs to the temptation. At the same time, she tries to conceal her secret from her family.

Katherine's Memorial Service: On the day of Katherine's memorial service, Genoa city residents come together to remember the dead. At the gathering, Nikki behaves differently at the event.

On this day, "Katherine's thinking regarding the music box mystery is discussed." This unravels the mystery and reportedly "brings closure for Jill." But she is still unhappy about Katherine's decision.

Meanwhile, Murphy makes a surprising return during Katherine's memorial service. This leaves Jill annoyed. In a shocking twist, Ian Ward vanishes. "A bombshell" ruins Nikki and Victor's relationship. In the hospital, Phyllis finally wakes up.
