'The Young and the Restless' (YR) spoilers for July 19, 2016: Nikki asks Paul for a favour; Summer reveals her intentions to Victoria, and Mariah refuses to lend a helping hand

The next episode of “The Young and the Restless” will delve on Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) settling an important issue, an unexpected revelation by Summer Newman (Hunter King) of her intentions and Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) response to her rift with Sharon McAvoy (Sharon Case).

The daily episode synopsis found on Soaps She Knows says that Nikki needs to ask Paul for a favour which is followed by an open and intimate discussion between Paul and Nikki. Then, the tension seems to get tighter as Summer would reveal to Victoria that she already has plans to go against Luca Santori (Miles Gaston Villanueva).

To satisfy the last episode’s hanging end, Paul suddenly enters the hospital room of Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) while Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan), still in a heated moment, threatens Victor with a scalpel. This causes Chelsea to hide the scalpel from sight. As for the dispute between Mariah and Sharon from the last episode, Mariah now decides with apparent finality that she will not help Sharon at all.

A short teaser as posted in SoapHub reflects Chelsea turning her back while surprised as Paul almost catches her in the act of threatening Victor with a sharp scalpel. The threat still remains apparent on Victor’s face since the scalpel is still shown to him from Chelsea’s back.

Chelsea on the other hand remains quite smug while facing Victor; probably stirred from her attempt to threaten an older and injured man while in his hospital bed. Meanwhile, Summer and Victoria have made up their minds as it appears that they are very close to making their final says regarding a crucial issue involving another person.
