YouTube video claims Tupac Shakur is still alive
The Internet is swamped with reports all over, saying that Tupac Shakur is still alive. The snap, which many think features the rap icon, who was shot dead in Las Vegas in 1996, was featured in a YouTube video.
If it is in fact Tupac, this would make him around 44 years old in the present day. In the photo, a man who resembles Tupac wears a red bandana and looks up into the camera lens, taking a selfie. The subtitles in the video allege that Shakur’s photo was taken in 2015 on a phone “made in 2011.” The video was posted in November 2015. The video then plays out a song by rapper Kasinova Tha Don, who dubiously sounds like Tupac Shakur. Kasinova Tha Don has repeatedly denied claims he is Tupac.
Other "new" pictures of the rapper have emerged in the past, but they have been proven to be edited or those of others. Since his death in 1996, there have also been claims that Tupac is still alive and well, or hiding out in Cuba. Some people have claimed spotting the star.
It goes without saying that the video received mixed reactions from fans. “I know everyone wants him to come back but he is dead,” one person wrote. “Anybody who claims this guy is still alive is a(n) ... idiot. You can’t hide in today’s electronic day and age... stop drinking the conspiracy kool-aid you half-wits,” said another. “He alive,” another fan simply wrote.
On Sep. 7, 1996, Tupac was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting at the intersection of Flamingo Road and Koval Lane in Las Vegas, Nevada. He had been at the Mike Tyson vs Bruce Sheldon boxing match and been involved in a quarrel with gang member Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson. A while later, a car came alongside Shakur’s while he was standing with his head out of the sunroof and unknown occupants shot him. The police have no idea as to who killed the star to this day.
