YouTuber PewDiePie Wants Fans To Be A Part of 'This Book Loves You'
YouTube gaming star PewDiePie is inviting fans to join a contest for a chance to become part of his upcoming book, titled “This Book Loves You.” He made the invitation through a new video on his YouTube channel.
Empty Lighthouse reported that the photo contest, called “The Duck Is Coming,” features rules that focused on his fascination with ducks. In the video, he portrayed different fictional philosophy professors that gave raving reviews about his upcoming book.
Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg is best known for being the producer of the Swedish “Let’s Play” and the most subscribed channel on YouTube. He currently commands almost 37.2 million YouTube subscribers and is expected to start a viral trend with the new online contest. Kjellberg allegedly earns $7 million each year from his game-themed videos, and he already responded to critics via another video. He shared that he started sharing videos on YouTube since his college days to pay for rent and other expenses. Since then, he has transformed himself into one of the biggest stars of social media.
Polygon reported that in the video, PewDiePie portrayed a certain Professor KnotreadySchtop who described the book as world-changing. The fictional character said that the book illuminated the light of the human spirit in the same manner as great leaders like Jesus Christ, Mahatma Gandhi and Kanye West.
Los Angeles Times revealed that “This Book Loves You” will be Kjellberg’s first book, which will be published on October 20, 2015 in the United States by Razorbill, a division of Penguin Random House. The book will be a collection of aphorisms, jokes, wise words, photos and other images. The self-help book is expected to take on a light tone for readers. The 256-page book will release in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, Norway and France.
"Razorbill and Penguin US are excited to bring the words of PewDiePie to the American people in book form. And with more subscribers than Taylor Swift and One Direction combined, Felix is without question one of the most influential stars of this generation,” Razorbill president and publisher Ben Schrank, president stated.
