Zhang Ziyi Scandal Update: Actress Sues China Free Press
The alleged Zhang Ziyi scandal may have gotten the most out of the actress that she is all set to push through her charges against the China Free Pressed based in the US.
It all started with the story that the paper covered about the 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon' actress had various sexual relationships with high ranking politicians in China in exchange of money. It was reported that the Asian actress has been able to gather up to $100 million over the last decade, a story the actress and her representatives consistently denied.
According to the attorney of Ziyi who was exclusively interviewed by E! News, his client was never asked for any comment before the paper even published that she was a high end prostitute. This rumours spread fast like wild fire all over the Internet that it caused serious damage to the actress. And with this, Zhang Ziyi has all the right to defend herself to the point of finally taking things into legal matters by pressing charges.
"No matter what it takes and no matter what it costs, we really do intend to bring these people into court," Zhang Ziyi's attorney, John Mason said to E! They also intend to find out the real deal from these people and where they got the malicious information they courageously published.
Looking Back To How It All Started
The very first story said that Zhang Ziyi was linked to Bo Xilai, the ex party head of Chonqing. He was also taken out from the position during the early parts of this year due to another scandal that is not related to Ziyi.
Mason added that the press people who wrote this malicious news did not even have any evidence to prove such claims against the actress. The attorney said that if the publication wrote all of it just to get more readers, then the camp of Zhang Ziyi all thinks that the publication's actions are too outrageous.
China Free Press on the other hand is firm that they only publish what they believe is true. Ziyi, at the moment, is on to seek general damages and other appropriate punishment for the staff of the said publication.
