After making the tough decision to announce the end of her engagement over the weekend, actress Zoe Saldana ushered in the news by stepping out in Hollywood, California the night before the story hit the web. The "Avatar" star was joined by her mother and a small group of friends as they dined at popular eatery Osaka ahead of the public release of her called off nuptial plans.

Despite Zoe's decision to end things with 11-year partner entrepreneur Keith Britton, a source at the restaurant told the press that Zoe seemed to be in good spirits. "It seemed that she was enjoying the time with her loved ones," the People source added. Saldana later made her first public appearance since the breakup was announced at the "Hollywood Style Awards" where she presented the "Makeup Stylist of the Year" award to friend and collaborator Mara Roszak but opted to skip the red carpet ahead of the show. Saldana also seemed to be in good spirits while celebrating with Roszak, who often makes Zoe shine with beauty everywhere from the Oscars to photo shoots and in between.

"Saldana and Britton have amicably separated after 11 years," a representative of the actress said in a statement. The pair, engaged in June 2010, had a rare consistency for love in young Hollywood. Though their romance is over, they are still together in one sense. "Saldana and Britton remain committed business partners as co-founders of fashion resource MyFDB.com," the representative added to People.

In another event, Saldana presented the award for record of the year to Calle 13 for "Latino America" at the 12th annual Latin Grammy Awards in Las Vegas. Saldana keeps herself busy with work in order to move on from the ordeal of her called off wedding as well as the breakup from a longtime relationship.
