Zoe Saldana Splits From Longtime Fiancé, Keith Britton
What had seemed like forever has now gone 'never'.
Zoe Saldana has officially split from her fiancé, entrepreneur Keith Britton, says People.
However, her representative states that the separation was an "amicable" one, given that their relationship lasted for an amazing 11 years.
The two are also business partners in the website My Fashion Data Base, and will still continue to work together.
"Saldana and Britton remain committed business partners as co-founders of fashion resource MyFDB.com. Respect of their privacy is appreciated during this time," the statement continues.
The 'Avatar' actress hasn't issued a statement yet about the split, although she might have given a clue regarding her emotional state on Twitter.
"'You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.' - Buddha," she tweeted last Friday.
The actress, aged 33, and Britton, who's not far at 35, first met in 2000, but were always private about their affair, even though Zoe's career skyrocketed after a few years.
The two previously announced their engagement in June 2010.
That time, Saldana, in an interview to AccessHollywood.com, told that Britton was "supportive" of her Hollywood career, and that she felt that Britton was the only one who knew the "real Zoe".
"He's a very independent soul. He understands what I do, but this is not what he feel in love with and that's what I love," she then added.
It is really depressing to think that there would be no 'wedding bells' anytime soon, but at least there are no ill feelings between the two. Other famous couples who have somehow ended nicely include Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz, and Dexter's Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter, and even worked on some projects together.
It would be no doubt that Saldana and Britton would be able to do just the same.
But of course, the Latina's illustrious career will still continue its course. She will be reprising her roles in the upcoming sequels to 'Star Trek' as Nyota Uhura (2012) and 'Avatar 2' as Neytiri (2014). She will also be appearing alongside Bradley Cooper in the thriller 'The Words' next year.
