Deschanel and Gibbard split after two-year marriage.

The indie actress and star of the 'New Girl' series is now definitely a new and 'single' girl just like Kim Kardashian.

After just having her Christmas album reviewed well, here goes another newsbreak that says she has split with her husband, Ben Gibbard. Ben is an independent rock star who serves as the lead singer for the indie band Death Cab for Cutie.

According to reports made by US Weekly, their separation was "mutual and amicable". The couple even greatly emphasized that there was no third party involved. The two were married since 2009.

Deschanel once shared that it was really difficult whenever Ben was away for tours. But if there's anything that surprised her about being married is this: "You can't expect to make no effort. You still have to make the effort and be kind and understanding. It sort of just solidifies your commitment."
