Zsa Zsa Gabor shocked everyone recently with her humorous take on the untimely death of Joan Rivers. As reported by the National Enquirer, the 97-year-old Hungarian born actress and socialite quipped after receiving the news of Rivers on September 4 that she 'deserved to die'.

Her seemingly blasé remark was revealed by her husband, who was reportedly with the actress at the time when the piece of news was broken on television. The actress was purportedly quite amused by the news piece and commented that Rivers had always 'badmouthed' her and other actresses. "She deserved it", said the actress. "She's gone and I'm still here!"

Gabor is a renowned actress known for her European style charm and grace. Apart from her acting skills, she has been notoriously famous for her nine marriages.

Back in the 1960s, the two leading ladies collaborated for some time. The late comedienne used to write some of the jokes for Gabor who was well known for her witty remarks and numerous quotable puns.

In the subsequent years, the two ladies noticeably drifted apart. As observed by many of their fans, Gabor increasingly became the butt of many of Rivers' hilarious jokes. Quite recently, Rivers commented on the fact that Gabor had undergone too much plastic surgery. As the punchline of her joke, Rivers shared that if Gabor fainted, those who will respond to the situation would be dumbfounded as to whether she should be taken to a Tupperware factory or a hospital.

Gabor has constantly made the news due to her personal life. Among her nine husbands are American hotelier Conrad Hilton and the renowned musician George Sanders. She was divorced seven times while one of her marriages was annulled. She is presently married to Prince Frédéric von Anhalt, who is much younger to the actress. The couple had been married since 1986.

Once renowned for her outstanding beauty, the old actress is now wheelchair ridden. After incurring an infection in her right leg in 2011, it had to be amputated above the knee to save her life. Despite these medical problems and old age, the actress clearly has still not yet lost her funny bone.
