Zsa Zsa Gabor refuses doctors’ advice also to amputate her other leg
Socialite Zsa Zsa Gabor set to be released Friday after rejecting doctors’ advice to cut her left leg
This is really a growing sad story for actress and socialite Zsa Zsa Gabor. Her hospitalization, Wednesday has prompted her doctors to see the need to cut her remaining leg. Gabor’s right leg was already amputated in January due to gangrene. And she was brought to LA hospital this week due to absence of circulation of blood on her left leg.
The doctors have concurred that it is best to operate on her remaining leg but according to the actress’s publicist, John Blanchette, Gabor rejected the idea and decided to be brought home Friday.
According to the Associated Press, Gabor’s husband, Frederic Prinz von Anhalt said that the ill-stricken socialite has been taking medication for her legs. The husband also insisted that with all the medical treatment she has been receiving, Gabor has "a 50-50 chance" of survival for another year without surgery or any form of operations on her legs.
The actress who was known for her strings of rich husbands, appeared in various films including, "Moulin Rouge" (1952) and "Queen of Outer Space" (1958). A reputable socialite, she had been a presence in many of Hollywood’s elite gatherings until her health has failed her in the last few years.
