ZTE Windows Phone: Features and Full Specifications
China-based company ZTE recently released two new Windows Phones. These are ZTE Orbit and ZTE Tania. These Windows Phones were set to target people who are looking for inexpensive Windows Phones in the market.
Here are the full specifications and features of the Windows Phones offered by ZTE:
ZTE Tania
ZTE Tania is the first Windows Phone released by ZTE and was already available in the UK market last Jan. 2012. It has a dimension of 128.6 x 67.8 x 10.5 mm and weighs around 158g. It has a display size of 4.3 inches with WVGA 480 x 800 pixels and TFT capacitive touchscreen. ZTE Tania also contains Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon, 1 GHz Scorpion, 512 MB RAM, 5MP camera, 1,400 mAh battery (up to 5 hours talk time), Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth, USB option, and 4GB storage size albeit no microSD option. In terms of OS, it utilizes Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 Mango.
In regards to ZTE's partnership with Microsoft, Mr. Wu Sa, director of mobile device operations at ZTE UK commented in the released press release stating that "We're delighted to be working with Microsoft and as a key partner will support the industry forecasted growth on this exciting new platform with both the ZTE Tania and in the future a growing range of devices." ZTE Tania is already available in the UK with a selling price of £250 or US$390. No official news has been released regarding its availability in Australia.
ZTE Orbit
The ZTE Orbit is the second Windows Phone launched by ZTE which also caters to users who are in a tight budget looking for a Windows Phone. It has a 4-inch TFT display with 480 x 800 pixels, processor of single core Qualcomm MSM7227A-1 1GHz chip, 512 MB of RAM, and 4GB memory storage with no option for expandable memory. The ZTE Orbit also has 5MP rear camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and USB capability as well as Windows Phone 7 as its OS.
This Windows Phone was revealed during the Mobile World Congress 2012. He Shiyou, Executive vice-president and head of the Terminal Division of ZTE remarked about the company's decision to add another device in their Windows Phone line stating that "The Windows Phone platform is as powerful as it is intuitive, enabling us to create and deliver exciting new devices that meet real consumer demand." The ZTE Orbit is slated to be available around the second quarter of 2012.
