'Curb Your Enthusiasm' season 9 stolen episodes could be leaked online
Unreleased episodes from the ninth season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" could be leaked to illegal torrent websites in the near future. Earlier in the week, a group of hackers broke into computers at Time Warner Inc.'s HBO to steal episodes of the comedy series, besides "Ballers" and "Game of Thrones," according to reports.
On Friday, the fourth episode of "Game of Thrones" season 7 titled "The Spoils of War" found its way to popular torrent websites. The episode was due to be released on Sunday. Similarly, the third episode of "Ballers" Season 3 titled "In the Teeth" was leaked online before the scheduled release over the weekend.
HBO is currently working with law enforcement and private security firms to curtail the cyber attack. In a memo sent to employees Monday, the television network confirmed that the company's email system was not breached.
“Many people have expressed particular concern about our email system. At this time, we do not believe that our email system as a whole has been compromised, but the forensic review is ongoing," Richard Plepler, the Chief Executive Officer of HBO, told employees via a memo, via Bloomberg.
Curb Your Enthusiasm season 9 airs in Oct.
The six-year wait for "Curb Your Enthusiasm" season 9 will end in the first week of October. After the eighth season aired in 2011, many believed that David had lost the inspiration to write the series. However, actor-cum-producer Jeff Garlin recently revealed that David had outdone himself for the ninth season with a plot that "is rather insane" and will entertain anxious fans who have yearned six years for the return of the HBO masterpiece.
"It’s coming back with all the things about it that people love. But it’s not following any big formula. The storyline is rather insane. Like people are going to go, 'I can’t believe they’re doing this!' That’s what they’re going to say. And I don’t often think that with our show," Garlin, who portrays the character of Jeff Greene, told ABC News.
Last month, HBO released a press release to confirm the return of cast members David, JB Smoove, Jeff Garlin and Susie Essman (Susie Greene). However, reports have confirmed the returns of Cheryl Hines (Cheryl David), Richard Lewis (himself), Ted Danson (himself), Mary Steenburgen (herself) and Bob Einstein (Marty Funkhouser). Lauren Graham, the former Gilmore Girls star, has also been confirmed as a guest star.
