American actor Ahmed Best, who portrayed the role of Jar Jar Binks in the initial episodes of “Star Wars,” has made a firm decision to flatly turn down the offer to reappear in new Star Wars films in case he is approached.

“No, I think I’ve done my damage. Yeah. I’m good with where I stand in the Star Wars universe. I don’t need to do that,” the actor said. “I’d say no. I’m not really interested in coming back. I did what I did, I thought it was great, I thought it was fun, and now it’s time to move on,” Entertainment Weekly quoted Best just in case Lucasfilm asked him directly.

Best’s response about reviving the part of Jar Jar Binks has come at a time when other players of the film - director George Lucas and actor Hayden Christensen – are rumoured to possibly make a comeback.

Best was part of “Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace” where he also lent his voice apart from the performance capture for Jar Jar Binks. He then went on to work in “Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones” as well. “Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith” was the last big screen adaptation of the “Star Wars” film series that featured Best.

However, Best went on to feature in several small screen adaptations on “Star Wars” as well like “Robot Chicken: Star Wars – Parts I - III.” Despite a gap of over a decade, Jar Jar Binks has not faded in the memory of the viewers as well as the cast members of “Star Wars.” It was only recently when new director J.J. Abrams came up with a joke on Best’s character.

“I have a thought about putting Jar Jar Binks’s bones in the desert there. I’m serious! Only three people will notice but they’ll love it,” Vanity Fair quoted Abrams.
