The Chicago police is searching for a male suspect who shot on Sunday night a male teen who were about to confront a person over a post in Facebook.

Fox reports that 13-year-old Anthony Diaz, together with two older sister, ages 15 and 17, went out at about 10:35 pm from their house in Belmont Cragin neighbourhood, according to Ralph Otero, their stepfather.

While walking with a group along the 600 block of West Grand Avenue, someone came and fired his gun at the boy. The bullets hit Anthony on the left side and one of it exited through his chest.

The oldest sister called home and informed their mother of what happened. Otero found Anthony lying on the ground about one block from their home in Northwest Side, where they just transferred in November.

Police said the 13-year-old was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, but he was declared dead.

Otero described his stepson as a good student who didn’t given them any headaches.

The police has Anthony’s mobile phone which could have a video of the shooting incident. Another source of identifying the gunman is the surveillance video of a nearby business establishment.

There is a $1,000 reward that was put up on Monday for those who could provide information that would lead to the arrest of the gunman.
