'Hunger Games' grabbed the most number of popcorn trophies during the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. It included recognitions of the film's best fight scene, best makeup transformation for Elizabeth Bank's role, and best male and female performances for Josh Hutcherson and Jennifer Lawrence respectively.

'Hunger Games' won four out of the eight categories that they were nominated for.

Other movie winners included other hit young adult film adaptations like 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1,' and 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2.'

'Bridesmaids' took home two awards namely the best gut-wrenching performance and best comedic performance award for Melissa McCarthy.

Hutcherson said that the Best Male Performance award he got was cool and that he has always longed to do a lot of stunt work even if producers do not allow him to do so. Jennifer Lawrence was not in the event as she is still filming 'Serena' in Prague with Bradley Cooper.

Alexander Ludwig, Hutcherson's fellow Best Fight winner never failed to thank all the 'Hunger Games' fans for their undying support to the movie that opened 2012 with a bang filled with brand new young adult film adaptations.
