2015 MTV Movie Awards: Charlie XCX, Bai Ling, Rebel Wilson, Hailey Steinfeld, Shailene Woodley Fail To Impress

The MTV Movie Awards 2015 held at Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles, California on April 12 was not devoid of some red carpet missteps by the celebs. British singer Charlie XCX, actresses Rebel Wilson, Bai Ling and Hailee Steinfeld failed to impress with their weird and wacky sense of style, according to Mirror UK. Though it was not a black tie affair like the Academy Awards where celebrities could opt for more open outfit choices, but MTV Movie Awards is place where A-listers like to keep it toned down.

These stars wanted to be experimental and were a disaster. Ling, 48 who is best known for her outrageous wardrobe, did it again by wearing a bodice shaped like a dragon. She flaunted her figure in a gold corset that resembled armour, a giant dragon lifting its head over her shoulder. The body of the dragon protruded behind her back, sculpted in a wavy shape. The gold top was paired with a little sheer black skirt with scallops all over that gave it a feathered look. It showed a lot of skin and was perhaps the most bizarre outfit of the day.

The actress completed her look in gold, silver and black high heels and carried a small red and golden clutch. Her raven hair was piled up high into a coil, while she opted for thick winged eyeliner and bright orange-red lipstick. Bai also showed off the tiger tattoo on her bare back.

Following closing behind was actress Rebel Wilson who turned heads wearing a black dress with a cape. As she walked the red carpet, it looked like any LBD, until she stretched out her cape and shows off the badass hot pink lining. She teamed up her ensemble with matching pink pumps. Wilson later changed into a more outrageous number that consisted of black leather trousers, a sequined and fringe bra top and a pair of angel wings.

Hailee also raised eyebrows with her experimental ensemble. The 18-year-old star wore a mis-matched outfit. She donned a sheer olive green top with a ruffled detailing around the buttons and collar. It was tucked into an asymmetrical black and white patterned mini skirt with mesh detailing on hemline. She paired her look with a strappy black peep-toe ankle length heels. Steinfeld’s brunette tresses were kept loose and centre parted while she wore red lipstick and flashed black manicure.

Charli was dressed in a colourful belted raincoat dress in a bright plaid pattern. She paired the dress with beige platform booties and red pout. Charli XCX led the way when it came to getting it wrong wearing a pastel checked mac with white platform heels. Shailene Woodley, the Trailblazer Award winner was dressed in a pattern-mixing Isabel Marant ensemble. It had a black-and-white striped T-shirt with scoop neck and high-waist ikat print pants. She completed her look with bright red lips, black heeled booties and a braided up do.
