2016 Golden Globes: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is engaged; star shows off diamond ring

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is engaged to longtime boyfriend Jason Statham. The couple walked the red carpet at the 73rd Golden Globe Awards in California on Sunday. It was the model and actress’s huge bling that stole the show at the ceremony.

The couple’s representative confirmed that they were engaged, Hello reports.

Huntington-Whiteley showed off her Neil Lane sparkler as she walked arm-in-arm with Statham on the red carpet, People reports. The mega-carat diamond appeared to be a round cut stone set on a diamond band. A source told US Weelky that her 5-carat ring is set in platinum and costs a whopping $350,000 (AU$500360.98).

The supermodel paired her new rock with a nude and gold beaded fringe Atelier Versace gown.

The floor-sweeping gown featured a daring plunging neckline and shoulder straps. The fishtail-style gown highlighted her slender and tall frame. She accessorised her look with the diamond encrusted band worn on her ring finger and earrings. Rosie paired her look with gold high heels while her long blonde hair was left loose over her shoulders in beachy waves.

Statham, 48, meanwhile looked dapper in a black velvet tuxedo. He paired it with black trousers, black bow-tie and a crisp white shirt. He finished his look in a pair of black lace-up shoes.

The exciting engagement news comes after the couple recently enjoyed a romantic vacation together in Phuket, Thailand. The duo was spotted hitting the beach and soaking up the sun last week. The pair showed a lot of PDA during their romantic break.

Rosie and Statham are usually tight-lipped about their romance, but the actor joked about their at-home life to Esquire last year, E Online reports. “We get drunk and float around the swimming pool,” he said. The “Mad Max: Fury Road” actress also gushed about her partner as she shared a black-and-white photo he had taken of her during their getaway.

“When your man takes your photo…@jasonstatham,” she captioned the photo, adding a heart emoticon. Rosie has been dating Statham for five years and opened up about their relationship in an interview with Glamour magazine, explaining that their home life together is far from glamorous. She had told Self magazine that she and Statham were the best of friends and he made her laugh every day.
