Majority of teenagers now have access to smartphones which they primarily use for basic phone functions, education, social media, and entertainment. But when entertainment needs goes beyond the usual movie and TV fare, pornography is the first thing in mind. Network carriers have filtered these Web sites but teens have found a way around it through sexting - messages and pics that are sexually explicit.

Applications that support sexting are now growing even as authorities try to contain them especially in two major OS platforms - the Android and iOS.

Snapchat is a photo messaging application featuring image capture, video recording, and text and drawing editing which can be sent to a controlled list of recipient. Unfortunately, it is not 100% safe against sexting activities.

iBone has been finally approved by Apple even though morality groups strongly oppose it. It is retailed at $1.99 and enables two or more iPhone users to connect via SMS, voice and camera for the primary purpose of sexting each other. According to the iBone marketing spokesperson, "The adult market is a demographic we are specifically aiming for. Married couples and dating adults are who we are pushing this to. That is why we have slapped an 18+ requirement on the download". Apple refused at first but Slap the Penguin hosted the app as an adult only program.

Android has its version which is now available in Google Play, the Sexy Text (Sexting). The app brings sexting more exciting that downloads database of hundreds of the hottest sexy texts which would make it easier to say something during your turn on the significant other. The user can also create list of favorite flirty text that can also be shared via SMS, email, Facebook, Twitter, or any other similar apps installed in the smartphone.

Apple Store is very strict when it comes to applications that can be downloaded but in Android OS, most flirting applications are free of access including dating sites and pictures of hunks and gals.

To counter the acceptability of these sexting app, some groups have come up with a campaign to stop the practice.
