5-Inch HTC One Poised for Q3 2013 Release Date: 3 Reasons to Wait for this Galaxy Note 3 Rival
Still seeking its recovery-inducing device, HTC will reportedly complete its HTC One menu with a 5-inch smartphone that naturally will clash head-on with the industry-leading Galaxy Note series from Samsung.
Numerous reports have indicated that the Taiwanese device manufacturing firm is punctuating its 2013 lineup with a possible Galaxy Note 3 killer, a large-screen HTC One that allegedly is set for release date between July and August this year.
The handset, which according to known HTC leaker @LlabTooFeR is called HTC Butterfly 2, serves as the final instalment in the HTC One series, comprising of the original make and the HTC One Nexus that CNET confirmed last week.
Two versions were also released in China and Japan recently, which are unique for having removable back cover and memory expansion slot. As for the upcoming edition, three compelling reasons emerge as the major come-ons and they are listed below.
The next HTC build is made of Liquidmetal alloy
This chassis is the end-product of forging amorphous metal alloys that according to BGR News was first rumoured to be adopted by Apple in producing the iPhone. In a new report by DigiTimes, it looks like that HTC will outrace Apple.
The company, the same report said, "is reportedly considering adopting Liquidmetal for its new smartphones in the second half of the year and is set to cooperate with Taiwan-based chassis maker Jabon International for related supply."
With the design and material that came with the HTC One, the Android smartphone won raves from many experts and lured some five million buys. Liquidmetal is another reason for HTC to look forward for favourable nods and sales figures before 2013 ends.
This HTC phablet promises to be the most robust yet
HTC anchored its One marketing on spirited attacks aimed at Samsung's Galaxy S4 and many experts agreed with the assertion that engineering-wise, the former offers more bang for the bucks.
The One is both solid and gorgeous and if HTC would want to sustain the traction it gained against the GS4, it is a must to raise the bar much higher when tussling with the Galaxy Note, which is en route to its third iteration with no clear competition in sight.
Expect the HTC phablet package to boast again of durability and upscale craftsmanship, climbing to the next level, of course, to make a dent in a market segment that Samsung currently rules and Apple would soon take on.
The Butterfly is almost the HTC One with an exciting twist
At 4.7-inch, many reviewers gushed that HTC hit just the right size suitable for a smartphones that oozes with powerful hardwares and capabilities. Still, there are those who wish HTC could have stretched the screen-size a bit further - not too much such as the Galaxy Note overkill.
Per @LlabTooFeR, HTC is answering these prayers as he tweeted that the upcoming phablet challenger "will share almost identical hardware but with bigger screen." The camera specs are also of the One imprint - with UltraPixel and the same cool camera features.
Essentially, the Butterfly will be the same machine that stole some thunder off the GS4 and would attempt to replicate the same with the Galaxy Note 3.
