747 Crash Bagram: 7 Plane Crash Victims Remembered in Memorial Web Site
The 7 American crew members in the 747 cargo plane crash in Bagram, Afghanistan may be gone but they are never forgotten. The NCR 102 memorial web site has been set up dedicated to the victims and their families where memories are shared and monetary donations can be made online.
The memorial web site link is: http://ncr102.org/Home.html and all of the money raised will be divided equally to the 7 crew members' family. Memorial services will be offered to the 7 plane crash victims beginning this week.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has not yet identified the cause of the horrifying plane crash. However, NTSB is currently conducting a thorough investigation together with the Afghanistan Ministry of Transportation and Commercial Aviation and representatives for the Federal Aviation Administration and Boeing to determine what exactly made the 747-400 cargo plane crash down.
According to an unnamed expert, the first step is to recover the flight and cockpit voice recorders and bring them to the United States for examination. For the video leaked on the internet, reports claim there was no evidence that shows an inside attack during the cargo plane's takeoff.
"It's a classic stall on takeoff. It goes up, loses its momentum and falls off to the right," Mary Schiavo, an aviation safety expert, stated. The aviation expert further added that there are three possible causes for the 747 plane crash:
1. Loss of engine power.
2. Runaway trim in which the small stabilizer tabs on the 747-400 tail elevators are incorrectly set upward due to malfunction or human error.
3. Cargo sliding to the back of the plane during takeoff affecting the plane's weight balance.
"Investigators will try to determine whether the plane's fuel might have had water in it, which could have caused the engines to lose power," Schiavo declared. Other factors to be determined are the plane's takeoff speed if it was set at the correct velocity and the cargo load's security and balance on the plane.
The U.S.-led military coalition is conducting an inspection on the conditions of the plane crash as well. "We are taking a comprehensive look at the events surrounding the aircraft crash, to include the subsequent photo on Twitter and the video posted on LiveLeaks," spokesman Erin O. Stattel stated through a sent email.
