It looks like Hollywood's hunky actor Ryan Gosling is going to be portraying the role of the kinky billionaire Christian Grey in the upcoming movie adaptation of the successful novel "Fifty Shades of Grey." Niall Leonard, the husband of author E.L. James, is reportedly claiming that Gosling is already in talks for the male lead character and the actor might be up for the challenge of his most sizzling role yet: Christian Grey.

According to reports, Niall Leonard revealed that the last he heard was Ryan Gosling is the number one choice to portray the role of Christian Grey in the much anticipated film. However, representatives for the 31-year old Gosling did not immediately comment about the casting rumors.

Ever since it has been announced that there will be a "Fifty Shades of Grey" film, the social networking sites on the internet has begun making noise non-stop with the idea of possible celebrities to be cast for the roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. The "Vampire Diaries" actor Ian Somerhalder has even expressed in public his interest in portraying the male lead character.

"I absolutely would be up for that," Somerhalder said. "Absolutely. That would be a pretty incredible thing. And hopefully that could pan out, I think," the actor added.

Meanwhile, E.L. James' husband fondly spoke of the success of his wife's novels and the response of the public with her work. "Everybody has got fantasy figures and day dreams. Everybody has," Niall Leonard said.

"Anybody who hasn't got any fantasy or imagination, I would pity them, really. If people are stupid enough to mix up a fantasy with reality," Leonard added. Niall Leonard also denied reports claiming that his wife based the character of Christian Grey on him. "I'm glad I'm not him because he's actually damaged," Leonard said. "I wouldn't have liked to go through what he went through," he shared.

Now that Niall Leonard revealed that the "Drive" star Ryan Gosling is the top choice in portraying the manipulative billionaire Christian Grey who lures the innocent Anastasia Steele into his world of bondage and S&M, fans will surely be pretty pleased about it.
