Since the launch of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in June 2012, Adobe already stopped developing Flash for mobile devices. However, Flash remained available for Android until 4.3 because the AOSP Android still supported Flash. On the other hand, with Android 4.4 KitKat and all newer versions thereafter, Android no longer supports Flash because Google moved to Chromium for its WebView.

Even without Google support, Flash remains to be on various websites in the Internet, and the lack of Flash support results in black squares instead of Flash contents. In fact, the lack of it is an inconvenience to many web users. As such, if you are in Android 4.4 KitKat and you want to enable Adobe Flash support here are the steps that you need to know.

1. Download the Dolphin Browser in Google Play.

*Tip: It is also recommended to download the Dolphin Jetpack in Google Play because the it solves compatibility issues like freeze issues in full screen and crash issues better.

2. Download the hacked flash player.

Tip: For compatibility reasons, you have to make sure that you have already uninstalled the previously installed flash player in your device before you proceed to install the hacked version.

In the event that your device failed or refused to install the APK outside of Google Play, you may configure your device to allow apps from unknown sources to be installed. Simply go to Settings > Securities > Unknown resources.

3. Turn on the flash setting in Dolphin Browser by going to Click Menu > Settings > Web Content > Flash Player.

Please remember that because this is not an official release you might encounter some problems and the procedure might not work seamlessly. It goes without saying that enabling flash comes with a couple of vulnerabilities of the technology. Nevertheless, this procedure worked out fine without any issues on some devices.
