AFC Asian Cup: Tickets for the Tournament Announced
As Australia is all set to roll AFC Asian Cup in 2015, information on tickets are also announced by the organising committee.
The ticket prices for Asian Cup are intentionally set at affordable rates. They announced the idea of "family friendly" tickets, starting from $5 for kids to $40 for a family of four.
Tickets will be made available from May 7 for the football family, with venue package, followed by general public sale to kick-off from May 19.
The tournament is slated to start on Jan 9, and the matches will take place across five different locations - Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra and Newcastle . Interested parties can even buy venue packs directly from the stadiums.
"At the height of summer, with school holidays in full swing, and with such attractive prices, we look forward to welcoming tens of thousands of Australian families - not just those inside the traditional football family," stated Micheal Brown, CEO of Asian Cup's Local Organising Committee.
"This will be a festival of football never seen before in Australia, featuring our own Socceroos battling the best 16 teams in Asia, including Asia's three other World Cup finalists in Japan, South Korea and Iran ... We have deliberately kept prices affordable for families and those in multicultural communities who will be keen to attend multiple matches," he added.
For those unable to join the action, they can catch it live on Fox Sports.
Four groups have been drawn for the tournament. Group A consists of Australia, Korea Republic, Oman and Kuwait.
Group B has Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, China PR and DPR Korea.
Group C houses Iran, United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain.
The Group D consists of Japan, Jordan, Iran and the winner of AFC Challenge Cup 2014.
The Socceroos will play their first match against Oman on January 13 at Sydney's stadium, followed by a tough one against South Korea on January 17 at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane.
