After parting ways with Essendon, forward Leroy Jetta quits the Bombers to explore other options through free agency.

On Sunday, Essendon confirmed that Jetta and the club agreed to part ways.

Jetta played a total of just 10 games in the past two years with the club, including two in 2014. In eight seasons, Jetta played a total of 93 games.

"It is a difficult decision to move on after eight years at Essendon but the time is right to look for new opportunities elsewhere," Jetta said according to AFL.com. "I've been lucky enough to play under some terrific coaches, including James Hird and Mark Thompson and I would like to thank everyone at the Essendon Football Club for the support they have shown me, especially my teammates."

The forward thanked the unwavering support of his fans and said that he will always look back at his time with Essendon with good memories.

Colin Young, Jetta's manager revealed that he had previous discussions with the club recently. In the last three months, he talked with Adrian Dodoro discussing Jetta's future and decided that it's about time to seek a new home and look for new opportunities at another club.

Meanwhile, on the last night of Mark Thompson as a senior coach at Essendon, he pleaded for the club players to be freed from the stress of the present Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) investigation.

Following the club's 12-point elimination final loss to North Melbourne, Thompson revealed that he has yet to make a decision on his plans for the upcoming season and if he will stay in a coaching capacity for the club.

According to Thompson, he does not want his coaching future to be a distraction for players, who he said deserved closure to the saga from the ASADA investigation.
