Collingwood Magpies star Dayne Beams will be traded to the Brisbane Lions in the latest transaction in the Australian Football League a move that will allow Beams to join his brother Clay with the Lions.

Collingwood’s president Eddie McGuire confirmed the deal via the team’s official website and mentioned that the transaction will be finalised on Tuesday.

"I think it'll get done this afternoon, it's all been agreed," McGuire said.

The Lions will send Jack Crisp, and two future draft picks— No. 5 and No. 25 to the Magpies in exchange for the disgruntled Beams, who requested to be traded earlier in the season. In a related deal, Collingwood will acquire Levi Greenwood from North Melbourne Kangaroos for that No. 25 second round selection.

Beams’ contract with Collingwood was set to expire after the season.

Others who are reportedly in trade transactions later this week are Heritier Lumumba (Collingwood); Travis Varcoe (Geelong Cats) and Mitch Clark (Melbourne Demons). The potential deals will bring Lumumba to Melbourne, Varcoe to Collingwood and Clark to Geelong.

The trade deadline in the AFL is set on Thursday while the National Draft is scheduled on Nov. 27, 2014.

Beams is a 24-year-old forward/midfielder who was drafted by Collingwood as the 29th pick in the National Draft in 2009. He played a total of 110 matches for Collingwood producing 118 goals. Beamws, who previously suited up for Southport in the Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL), is considered one the games better midfielders and was even selected to the 2012 All-Australian Team. Injuries stalled his development in the 2013 season.

Collingwood initially balked at possible deals that will give away Beams but has since retracted with the availability of the 21-year-old Crisp, who can play as a tall midfielder and half-back/half-forward.
