Al Pacino owes Uncle Sam $188k in tax surcharges
The A-list actor, Actor Al Pacino blames the tax surcharges to his former business manager Kenneth Starr.
Actor Al Pacino is now the target of US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for his alleged failure to pay taxes. The IRS has filed tax charges against the A-list actor for reportedly not paying an estimated amount of $188,283.50 of taxes.
The amount said TMZ is the grand total for two-years of unpaid taxes. The actor, according to the IRS did not pay $169,143.06 in 2008 and $19,140.44 in 2009.
But don’t jump the gun on the “Scent of a Woman” actor. His representative told TMZ that the actor did not cheat on the US government. The problem stemmed from the failure of Pacino’s business manager, Kenneth Star to pay the necessary taxes.
This should not be a surprise. Pacino may just be Starr’s next victim. TMZ said that the ‘Ponzi schemer’ is now facing seven years in prison ‘for bilking bunch of Hollywood bigwigs out of millions”.
Pacino’s spokesman maintained Al’s innocence and with the new management taking care of his business, the actors representative promised that this misunderstanding can be straighten out in no time.
