The first teaser trailer of the live action film “Aladdin” has been released online. The film is a remake of the 1992 animation flick, and it has all the familiar elements, including a very familiar music.

The film will take the viewers back to the fictional city of Agrabah, a desert kingdom ruled by Sultan (Navid Negahban). The evil minister Jafar (Marwan Kenzari) has designs on the throne, and also seeks more magical powers.

The trailer gives the fans a bird’s eye view of the city. It remains to be seen if the parrot flying overhead is actually Iago, the bird who used to work for Jaffar before switching sides to help Aladdin (Mena Massoud).

Jaffar needs a magical lamp that is hidden away in the Cave of Wonders. Only Aladdin is allowed to enter the cave, and he is described as the “diamond in the rough.”

The cave has a lion’s mouth, which is again something that was seen in the animation film. It is filled with treasures and gold, but Aladdin is only supposed to pick up the magic lamp.

Imprisoned inside the lamp is Genie (Will Smith), who has been waiting for someone to let him out. The master of the lamp gets three wishes.

What should get the fans of the 90s movie and the TV show excited is the music of the upcoming film. This is a slower version of the “Arabian Nights” song.

The film has been directed by Guy Ritchie, who has worked on movies like “Sherlock Holmes,” abd “Man from U.N.C.L.E.” The script has been written by John August, who has written the screenplay for movies like “Big Fish.”

“Aladdin” is set to be released on May 24, 2019 in Australia. The other cast members of the film include Naomi Scott (Jasmine), Billy Magnussen (Prince Anders), and Nasim Pedrad (Dalia).
