The Amazing Race Recap: Series 20 Episode 1
The world renowned race all over the world is back and it has got a whole new more surprises up for contestants that are in it to win it.
Teams of which include border patrol agents, federal agents, twins and married clowns will face the challenge spread out over five continents and twenty-two cities. "The Amazing Race" Season 20 Episode 1 premiered last February 19 with a debut of two teams from San Diego.
Opening the first episode of series 20 are two pairs coming both from San Diego. First up is a pair who says they have the edge when it comes to making quick-witted decisions which all came from experience as working under the United States Border as Patrol Agents, Art Velez and J.J. Carrell.
Another team from San Diego is sisters, Misa Tanaka and Maiya Tanaka.
The episode kicked off with 11 teams bicycling their way alongside host, Phil Keoghan, in a vineyard in Santa Barbara at California. Here then started their first team battle where teams had to run through the vineyard while pulling balloon baskets down in hopes of locating one with a clue.
100 balloons were set up all throughout the area but only 11 contained the vital clue of which would lead the teams to their next spot which was the Los Angeles International Airport.
Yet, the check-in counter at the American Airlines wasn't the end for the teams' run. The plane would lead them to Santa Barbara, Argentina where teams would get onto their next two agendas namely a 10,000-foot sky dive and an empanada cooking contest.
Unluckily for the all girl team from San Diego, Misa and Maiya were eliminated from the Race as they had finished last among all the other 11 teams.
The season has just begun and that leaves ten teams to compete not only with the others but with nature as they sprint around the globe in hopes of becoming the next big winner of "The Amazing Race."
California and Argentina were just two places that gave a taste of what was up next for the teams. They are yet to make trips to Azerbaijan, Paraguay and a few other exotic locations.
