'American Horror Story' Season 5 Update: Lady Gaga To Choose Matt Bomer Or Finn Wittrock In 'Hotel'
Finn Wittrock is joining the cast of “American Horror Story” Season 5, and it looks like there is a love triangle in offering involving him, Matt Bomer and Lady Gaga. However, It has not been revealed what roles they are going to play in the new edition of FX’s horror anthology series.
"American Horror Story" co-creator Ryan Murphy announced Wittrock's casting via Twitter. He said, “Finn Wittrock is checking into HOTEL. Who will Gaga choose -- Finn or Matt Bomer? #AHSHotel.”
Gaga became the first confirmed casting of “American Horror Story” Season 5 when she took to Twitter and announced that, and soon after that it was announced that Matt Bomer has been roped in as a series regular. The actor, who appeared in an episode of “American Horror Story-Freak Show” as hustler boy Andy, indicated that he and Gaga have extensive scenes together, and there were also speculations about a romantic storyline involving them. Murphy seems to have confirmed the speculations by tweeting who will Gaga choose.
In the previous season of “American Horror Story,” Wittrock played the main antagonist Dandy Mott. One of the most evil and twisted characters of “Freak Show,” Mott killed Bomer’s Andy in the most gruesome manner. He was the biggest freak of all in the show. Murphy has said that both Wirrrock and Bomer’s parts in “American Horror Story” Season 5 are big.
Meanwhile, Murphy has ruled out the possibility of musical numbers in “Hotel” despite Gaga starring in it. He told Deadline.com that Gaga has a “pure acting” part and her part is “bananas good.” The co-creator also revealed some details about the new season. He said that it is much darker compared to the previous seasons, adding it is “little bloodier and grislier.”
In addition to Wittrock, Gaga and Bomer, the other actors who have been roped in for the upcoming season are Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Denis O’Hare, Wes Bentley, Angela Bassett, Chloe Sevigny, Max Greenfield and Cheyenne Jackson.
“American Horror Story” Season 5 is expected to premiere sometime in October, and the filming is set to begin in July in Los Angeles. Murphy said that they have built an “incredible set” for the new season.
