'American Horror Story' Update: Season 5 'Hotel' Ballroom Troublemaker Revealed, To Cause Trouble With Lady Gaga
This October when “American Horror Story” returns with Season 5, subtitled “Hotel,” one can expect to see ballroom and other places in and around horror hotel turning into conflict zones because of Angela Bassett’s character.
Co-creator Ryan Murphy took to Twitter to announce the return of another AHS alum in the upcoming season of FX’s horror anthology series. He also hinted that Bassett’s character is set to cause a lot of trouble with Lady Gaga. “In October, Angela Bassett will be making lots of trouble with Lady Gaga in the ballroom and elsewhere,” Murphy said on Twitter.
Bassett will be making her third appearance in the series. She first joined the cast of AHS in Season 3 “American Horror Story-Coven.” She had a recurring role as Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau. The actress returned as one of the freaks in Season 4 “American Horror Story-Freak Show.” She played the three-breasted Desiree Dupree.
Meanwhile for Gaga, it will be her first appearance in “American Horror Story.” She became the first confirmed casting for the new season when she took to Twitter to announce the news and also revealed the theme and title of the new season. Gaga has signed on as a series regular and will be seen in extensive scenes with Matt Bomer’s character. It is being speculated that Gaga’s character will be portraying the role of an heiress.
Bomer, who played hustler boy Andy in an episode of Season 4, is returning as series regular to headline the show. West Bentley has also signed on as a series regular for “Hotel.” In “American Horror Story-Freak Show,” he had a recurring role as the two-faced mythic character Edward Mordrake. Also Chloe Sevigny is returning as a series regular after a gap of two seasons. She had a supporting role in “American Horror Story-Asylum.”
The other AHS alums who are returning to star in “American Horror Story” Season 5 are Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters. Bates’ character will be seen running the “Hotel,” while Peters’ will be waiting for the audience in Room No. 64. And Murphy has described Paulson’s character as “baddest bad girl of them all.”
