America has brought their finalist home as Ashton Jones was named as the first of the thirteen finalists who would not be coming back next week.

According to the Associated Press, the Nashville native got the fewest number of viewers’ votes at the first elimination on the Fox's American Idol 2011.

Jones has earlier got the nod of the Idol judges who was compared by media, to popular singer, Diana Ross at the early stage of the competition.

The judges noted AP did not save the 24-year-old contestant after she performed “When You Tell Me That You Love Me”.

"I was rooting for you, baby," Idol judge, Jennifer Lopez was quoted by AP assuring Jones after they made the decision. Jennifer was crying, again.

According to AP, before she was named as the first to go, Jones admitted that she may have made a wrong choice of song, saying she could have selected a more popular Ross tune.

With Jones at the bottom three are Karen Rodriguez of New York and Reinhart of Wheeling, Illinois.
