"American Idol" closed the curtain for Thia Megia and Naima Adedapo at this week’s elimination round and both were not given another chance after the judges’ save was used for Casey Abrams last week.

With the recorded 55 million votes this week, Idol’s judge, Ryan Seacrest announced that America has chosen the two not to come back for next week’s performance rounds.

People.com noted that this week’s decision should be a ‘no surprise’ for everyone, including Naima and Thia. The magazine described the two as among the two Idol’s hopefuls who have ‘never been secure in the competition’.

Naima failed to impress the judges and America for her Wednesday's performance of the reggae version of “I’m Still Standing”. According to People.com, Naima ‘didn’t find comfortable groove with it”, adding that her spoken introduction at the beginning of the song did not help her rendition of the song.

Thia, on the other hand would not go back next week even if she is one of the contestants with ‘a lovely voice’ said People.com. The celebrity website noted that her ‘consistency was her downfall’, referring to Thia’s ‘emotional temperature’ in her every performance, which was again seen with her version of “Heat Wave” during the performance round this week.

America may not be so thrilled with her style described by People.com as a ‘melancholy pop’.

The celebrity website added that Thia make the audience feel the need for ‘umbrellas for the studio audience and the judges in case tears started raining’.

Joining Naima and Thia at the bottom three was Paul McDonald, which should be a surprise for everyone rooting for the ‘whispery pop-folkiness’-style he had introduced in the singing competition.

Paul had received commendations from the judges at the early part of the competition for the unique performances he would give America. This week, said People.com, both Randy Jackson and Jennifer Lopez expressed some reservation for his performance.
