Google announced earlier that they will be releasing the Android 4.4 KitKat before 2013 ends. Many are also under the impression that the launch will be accompanied by another major release - most likely the Nexus 5. Reports suggest that LG may be the brand carrying the next Nexus. Apart from that, the market remains in the dark as what the Nexus 5 will offer on the table.

According to a report by MyCE, the website supposedly acquired a log file revealing a Nexus 5 operating with Android 4.4 KitKat. However, it is also important to understand that Android 4.4 was dubbed Key Lime Pie before Google made the announcement that it will be KitKat. The KitKat trick made its mark on the market as more people are now talking about it.

The log file hinted some of the specs people can expect from the Nexus 5. As many expected, the Nexus 5 share similar features of LG's G2. Reported features include 5-inch Full HD display, 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, 16 GB internal memory, 2 GB RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.2-megapixel front camera, LTE support and a 2300 mAh battery.

One downside of the Nexus 5 is that its main camera shoots at a lower megapixel compared to LG's G2. That is, 8 megapixels against 13 megapixels in G2. One of the supposed reasons why the camera has lower megapixel support is that Google wanted to keep the cost at bay.

A higher camera resolution will require a higher price tag. While some may feel this is a tradeoff, it is best to go for a lower camera resolution than to substitute the Snapdragon 800 CPU with lower performing CPU.

Google has not releases as many details about Android 4.4 KitKat. People will have to wait for the initial launch to know the full specs. The log file only revealed that the newest version of the Android OS will feature a black notification bar. The icons will be in gray. Google has not given away anything beyond that.

Despite the lack in details about the Android 4.4 KitKat, the wait should not be long. Reports already hinted that Google plans on revealing the OS this Oct. Apple just released their iOS 7 and iOS 7.2. Once Google unleases Android 4.4 KitKat, it will be Android vs iOS once more.

Which will dominate?
