Android 5 Key Lime Pie was indeed served at the Google I/O 2013. The much-anticipated OS iteration was served more than once, in fact. However, it did not come in the form developers were hoping to see. Still, Google's humour was appreciated by developers.

Android developers did not participate in the Google I/O hoping to play I Spy or Hidden Objects. But the game was played, nonetheless. Here is one of the servings of Key Lime Pie:

Did you just see the not-so hidden object? No words were said, but Google appears to be giving a sweet overview of what's to come. Android guy certainly seems happy with his little taste of iteration. But the next iteration is actually Jelly Bean 4.3, supposedly for launching in June.

Here is another Key Lime Pie serving:

Some of you must have just played I Spy again. Only this time, the object comes in text instead of image. In the battle of old and new Androids, how would Key Lime Pie fare against Jelly Bean? (Is 'new' always better?) Such idea is sparked by the fact that JB and KLP (as battle moves) are on opposite sides of fighting game characters.

Several months before the Google I/O 2013 event, speculations were ripe that a new Nexus 7 will be announced and it will run on Android 5. There were also speculations that Motorola X would be unveiled, and it will also run on KLP. Many developers and Android enthusiasts felt disappointed to learn that Jelly Bean still has another refresh coming. And Key Lime Pie? Well, props to Google for at least showing that KLP is definitely in the picture.
