Android 5.1 Lollipop Status For HTC One M8, One M7, One Max, One Mini And Desire Series
HTC confirms the rollout of Android 5.1 Lollipop update for HTC One M8 on August this year. It includes the latest HTC Sense 7.0 found on HTC One M9 providing improvements to user experience.
Android 5.1 Lollipop For HTC One Series
Android 5.1 Lollipop software update is currently under development for HTC One M8 and will sport the latest HTC Sense 7.0 user interface. According to HTC UK via Twitter, the smartphone is scheduled to be updated around August 2015 in United Kingdom but did not detail anything regarding the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for United States users.
HTC One M9 is also expected to receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop update along with HTC One M8 since the latest flagship runs the factory OS of Android 5.0 with Sense 7.0 UI. Other HTC One models such as HTC One M8s, HTC One M7 and HTC One M7 Dual are now in the final stage of Android Lollipop development while others such as HTC One Mini 2 and HTC One Mini are still under Android KitKat. HTC Sense User Interface Version 7
There are several changes HTC Sense 7 UI has to offer when compared to the previous version. It ranges from app-based improvements, updates and overall aesthetics according to Pocket-lint:
1. Apps under HTC Sense on the seventh version can now be updated through Google Play Store.
2. Refinement of home screen icons by providing more space and more room at the Notifications Menu.
3. Recent Apps use the Android Lollipop card-style viewing instead of the old grid view on HTC Sense 6 to keep the original Lollipop experience.
4. Four navigation controls at the bottom of the screen can now be rearranged to fit the user.
5. Quick Settings follow the Android Lollipop theme which also features the Flashlight toggle.
6. Personalisation option allows changing of colour accents, backgrounds and highlights.
7. HTC Themes now included for fonts, icons and navigation icon styles.
8. Volume controls now manage the Interruptions feature of Android Lollipop.
9. HTC Connect replaces Media Output for device streaming.
10. Updates for the HTC Camera, Gallery and Photo Editor apps.
