Andy Murray Plans To Marry Kim Sears In 2015
Most couple gets married a few months after getting engaged. British tennis superstar Andy Murray has recently revealed that he intends to marry her longtime girlfriend Kim Sears in 2015.
The current World No. 6 was asked about his marriage plans after his engagement, while he was in Manila for the first leg of the team tournament International Premier Tennis League, or IPTL. Murray and Sears have been together for nine years now.
"We have a plan to get married next year," Murray told the reporters. "That's the plan but no dates were set yet."
Murray popped the question a few days before the IPTL tournament started, the Daily Mail reports. Murray is part of the tournament, playing for the Manila Mavericks alongside other tennis greats such as Maria Sharapova, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, and Carlos Moya. The British webloid reported that the two-time Grand Slam champion popped the question and put an engagement ring on Sears' finger.
Murray's mom, Judy, is reportedly thrilled to hear the good news, while his 83-year-old grandmother, Shirley Erskine, couldn't be happier that the couple will soon be getting married.
Shirley said that Sears is a lovely girl. She received a call from the British tennis star just to tell them that he already proposed to his girlfriend of 9 years. Murray's grandfather Roy is also happy for the couple. Shirley said that Sears has shown a tremendous support for Murray through thick and thin and they excited and glad about the engagement.
Sears was only 17 when she met Murray, who went through the old courting habits such as sending her flowers and wooing her through phone calls. They briefly split in 2009, but rekindled their romance six months after. They have been inseparable since then.
