Anne Hathaway seemed to be the purrrr-fect fit for the role of Catwoman for the last film of the Batman trilogy.

"The Dark Knight Rises" marks that great transformation of the sweet and bubbly Anne Hathaway into the sly and cunning persona of Catwoman. The actress revealed that playing the role of the popular feline character was not easy.

Anne shared her intense preparation for her role. She said that fitting in the sexy black leather suit was just the first step. She practiced the finesse maneuvers of her character that made her logged in the gym for long hours.

Moreover, the actress said that she got the part, director and co-writer Christopher Nolan told her that there will be a lot of fight scenes. The director shared a story about co-actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt when they were filming "Inception." Joe hit the gym and came out in a really good shape. Thus, he did all of his fight scenes.

Anne quickly got what the director was trying to say. Thus, she went to the gym and worked out.

"It wasn't just about looking a certain way. I had to learn how to fight. I had to become strong," Hathaway explained on Sunday at a press conference for the film," the actress said.

"I feel in situations like this - I don't know what other actresses have gone through - but sometimes there's a mandate that comes to you and deals with how you have to look. The way I was treated on this movie was, 'Learn how to do what you need to do and then however you look, that's the way the character looks. And I felt, as a woman, very protected in that way," she quickly added.

If the tightness of the suit is bad enough, she had to do every scene in her towering stilettos. Anne Hathaway shared that she had to do a fight scene wearing high heels that almost made her feet hurt. However, she aced it with her acting.

"It's part of being a woman, you just figure it out. The Devil Wears Prada was really good training for that, though. I kind of ran all up and down Manhattan. Now I just ran up and down Gotham," the actress joked.

Thus, we learned that there will be a fight scene with Catwoman. We will be able to witness Charlie's Angels-like moves from the actress. The actress closed that being Catwoman in "The Dark Knight Rises" is a complete transformation for her.

"The Dark Knight Rises" will hit Australian theaters on July 19.
