'Ant-Man' Plot Spoiler: Lego Toys Reveal Hank Pym In Villain Costume
Hank Pym may turn evil after all in “Ant-man” if the recently released Lego Marvel merchandise were to give any indication at all on the film’s actual plotline. Scott Lang’s mentor is revealed in the movie tie-in product dressed as a villain.
Lego’s product, the Marvel Super Heroes Ant-Man Final Battle, may have just revealed a major spoiler for the film. According to Comicbook.com, the merchandise shows Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas, wearing another version of Scott Lang’s Ant-Man suit. The site shared a photo of the Lego’s box where it shows Lang’s mentor wearing a costume of his own but his is in black colour. The choice of black, which is said to be usually associated with bad guys, supposedly leads to the assumption that Hank Pym will turn into a villain nearing the end of the film.
There have been previous rumours of Michael Douglas’ character in “Ant-Man” turning evil. According to Comicbookmovie, Hank Pym will be revealed as the true villain at the end of the film. He will reportedly end up battling both Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Yellowjacket (Corey Stohll).
However, it’s still uncertain whether Hank Pym will suit up in his own Ant-Man suit in the film. The trailer also failed to show any indication of this major plot twist in the movie. But according to Comicbook.com, this Lego Marvel Super Heroes merchandise might just be “the icing on that cake.” Comicbookmovie likewise commented on how the black suit certainly makes Pym “look like a bit of a baddie anyway.” Plus, the site also noted how Lego wouldn’t want to release a product that doesn’t actually tie-in to the movie. So there’s said to be a likely chance that Hank Pym will eventually be revealed as the film’s major villain.
According to The Brick Fan, there have been reports of the Lego Marvel Super Heroes Ant-Man Final Battle merchandise already being sold at Toys R Us stores. The merchandise will reportedly retail at the price of $19.99. The set contains 183 pieces of Lego bricks and also includes three mini figures of the film’s major characters including Ant-Man, Hank Pym and Yellowjacket.
