Apple and Beats to develop a wireless Bluetooth headphone for iPhone 7
Recently, Apple acquired the Beats Electronics brand and it seems like Apple is planning to develop a cord-free pair of wireless Bluetooth headphones for the iPhone 7. Apple, along with the Beats team, is working on a prototype of EarPods with a lightning cable for the iPhone 7, according to Firstpost.
The website states that the supposed EarPods can be a premium optional accessory.
According to Firstpost, Apple had patented the rights of "AirPods," a new cord-free headphone. It is expected that the device may offer a cord-free experience similar to that of Motorola’s Moto Hint or the Bragi Dash headphones. Apple may use the similar design of Moto Hint of the Bragi Dash as the battery is located inside the tiny headphone assembly beside the sound driver and audio chips. The two devices have the same hardware design. There are two audio chips inside both earphones and works separately without being connected to each other.
Interestingly, the 9to5Mac report specifies that Apple may use a charging case which will enable the users to charge the headphones when not in use. The EarPod is expected to deliver at least four hours of playback time to make them more useful.
Apparently, Apple is planning to provide the standard pair of EarPods with a Lightning jack at the end cable. This would replace the traditional 3.5 millimetre headphone jack, states Firstpost.
Fans might be surprised that Apple, who started the iPod brand, is moving away from traditional tech. However, it is certain that the wire-free audio experience will have a big market out there longing for one.
Rumours have it that the iPhone 7 may be launched this fall, but 9to5Mac cites that Apple has not finalized the design of the handset yet. Apple is said to be testing three different designs for the iPhone 7. It also includes a completely new design which will be thinner and a backup that has the iPhone 6s-like design.
