Apple iPad Air 2 To Be Available In Gold Colour: Speculated To Be Released On October 21
Apple released the iPhone 6, the iPhone 6 Plus and the Apple Watch in September and now the company will be launching the successor model for iPad Air. According to Bloomberg, the Cupertino company will be launching a gold coloured variant of the new iPad Air 2.
NDTV states that the iPad Air 2 launch event is rumoured to take place on Oct 21. In 2013, Apple had launched a gold version of iPhone 5S and even this year too, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus are both available in golden colour.
Bloomberg further adds that the iPad Air 2 will be available in three colours, gold, silver and gray. By launching the gold colour variant of iPad Air, Apple will be aiming to boost the sales of the new tablet, says BGR. The faceplate of the gold colour iPad air would be white just like the gold and silver colored iPhones appear.
According to BGR, when Apple had released the iPhone 5S in gold, it became very popular among the buyers. The demand for iPhone 5S was so high that Apple had to bump up production.
BGR states that iPad sales have been consistently going down since the past two quarters. When the iPad was launched for the very first time in 2010, Apple managed to sell $5 billion iPads. In 2012, $30 billion sales were achieved. However, in 2013, the sales record of iPad is $32 billion.
The new iPad Air 2 is rumoured to feature the Touch ID fingerprint sensors, the new A8 processor and 2 GB RAM. Like the predecessor, the newer iPad is expected to feature the same 9.7-inch screen. It is not sure whether the Cupertino company will upgrade the resolution from 2,048 x 1,536 pixels that came with Apple iPad Air.
NDTV states that Apple will also be showcasing the OS X Yosemite and Mac Mini during the upcoming October event. Apple is also rumoured to launch a larger iPad in the coming year. It is expected to feature a 12.9-inch display with higher resolution and Apple A8X processor. The tablet is being referred to as iPad Pro.
