Apple iPhone 8 specs & features: Digital camera with light splitter, Intel partnership & wireless-charging tech discussed
Latest reports suggest that Apple is not likely to release the iPhone 8 before September 2017. The company may in the meantime release the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus. It’s been just more than a couple of months since Apple released its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. However, rumours are already on about the next-gen iPhone.
As per reports, the Apple iPhone 8 could have a bigger OLED curved display. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus may have 5 and 5.8-inch displays respectively. Apple could be using a bezel-less display to conform to the size of the handset. As per Macworld, Apple did apply for a patent in March 2015 for a bezel-less device.
As far other specs are concerned, nothing is known about next year’s Apple iPhone 8 though the company may tie up with Intel for manufacturing the processor for the iPhone 8. There is no rivalry between Apple and Intel. Hence, Apple may choose to shift some of its orders there. It will also be in line with Washington’s policy of encouraging US companies to make products at home.
Apple is known for using the best cameras for its smartphones. It also got a patent for a digital camera with light splitter. Thus, this new technology could be incorporated into the Apple iPhone 8 camera. This feature is generally available to professional video cameras. The technology is believed to produce excellent photos even in low light conditions.
These are merely rumours and it will be interesting to see whether Apple really introduced these new features in its iPhone 8. Apple is also said to be working with Energous to introduce the wireless-charging technology to Apple iPhone 8. The iPhone can be successfully charged if the owner is within 15 feet of the transmitter, writes BGR.
