Apple iPhone 8 and two iPhone 7s’ production on track; Release date, specs and hardware discussed
If latest reports are to be believed, the Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 7s are very much on track. The Cupertino-based tech giant will reportedly announce the smartphones in September and they will go on sale from October. This news update from Economic Daily News comes despite various reports claiming a delay in the production pipeline for Apple’s next-generation iPhones.
Apple was facing manufacturing issues with the new substrate-like circuit boards that will be present in all the three iPhones set to be released this year. The yields have since then improved a lot. The company has generally resorted to releasing its flagships in the month of September. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus were also released in the same month. Even though the Economic Daily News report (by DigiTimes) suggests that iPhone 8 and iPhone 7s are very much on schedule, if they are released in October, it would technically mean a delay.
There are reports that Apple will start producing the internal components from June. Pegatron and Foxconn are said to be to be carrying out mass hires to prepare for iPhone 8 assembly. The final names of the three smartphones are not known yet. The company is said to be readying the two iPhone 7s’ that will have the same chassis design as the current generation iPhones. The focus will be on wireless charging, better battery life, better performance and internal upgrades.
Then there is the third phone that the world is waiting for. It’s none other than the Apple iPhone 8, which is expected to be a revolutionary device. It may have a larger 5.8-inch OLED display that will be fitted into the same physical case size as that of the 4.7-inch iPhone 7. This means, the phone will be nearly bezel-less. It will be a stainless steel and glass wonder. Details about this edition of the flagship phone are scattered. Rumours are running rampant as to what its specs would be.
Some reports claim that the Apple iPhone 8 will have a 3D-sensing front camera, improved waterproofing, A11 SoC and brand new vertical dual-camera architecture on the rear that will have optical image stabilisation on both lenses. Wireless inductive charging may also be present. Meanwhile, there is also big news on the Apple TV front as Tim Cook and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos may finally bury the hatchet for business’ sake. The Amazon Prime video app may soon come to the Apple TV.
