Android and Blackberry users who want to turn to Apple can easily trade in their devices. The American tech company had recently expanded their trade-in plan, which is more famous as their Reuse and Recycling Program.

Through this trade-in, Apple will now accept certain models manufactured by their rival companies, which include BlackBerry, Windows Phone, and Android units. To date, the program has already been launched in the U.S., the U.K., France, Italy, Germany and Canada.

The units that are being traded will give its owner store credit, which may be used for purchasing a new iPhone 5c, iPhone 6 or an iPhone 6 Plus. Sadly, according to CNET, the Apple Watch is not among the devices that can be traded.

“Get credit when you recycle your eligible iPhone, iPad, or select smartphone from another manufacturer,” as stated in the web pages of Apple Store.

Apart from smartphones, Apple’s trade-in program now also accepts desktop computers from their competing brands. Windows computers can be traded in for store credit that can be used for getting a Mac.

It is no secret that Apple will always strive to gain more advantages over their competitors, especially Samsung. As a fruit of their hard work, a report from known market researcher, Gartner, stated that Apple had already inched past the Korean tech company in worldwide smartphone sales in the fourth quarter.

To be extra sure about which brands are accepted for the trade-in program, Apple opted to work with a third party vendor, Brightstar. Through the U.K. page for Brightstar, the list includes Samsung, BlackBerry, Nokia, and Sony. The U.S page, on the other hand, only has iPhones listed for acceptable trade-ins.

The trade-in program can already be accessed in Apple retail stores, as well as on the company’s official website. The U.K website has already been updated to reflect any changes that have been applied, while the U.S webpage has not been updated yet.
